I hosted my first Kids Sewing Party for one of my lovely girls from the Tuesday After School Club.
Non of the invited girls had been on a Sewing Machine before, they all used bondaweb and applique to create decoration for their own bags. By the end of the party they had all used a sewing machine and some had also hand sewn on buttons and bows.

This lady only started sewing in September last year and has made huge progress both in the her sewing skills and her confidence.
Why not join a class and see what you can achieve.
Really proud of my After school Kids Club for the Bunting that they made for Fathers' Day.
They used different techniques to decorate the bunting, including melted wax crayon, couching with wool and hand sewng.
Hope you agree they did a great job.
Another two of my lovely ladies relaxing at the end of a busy day making their own personal Close Fitting Bodice block, pattern and toile ( mock up)
You could also make a set of personal blocks for a Skirt, Trouser ,Dress and a variety of Bodices , which can then be adapted to make your own unique designs.

Just a couple of my lovely ladies working on their Close Fitting Bodice Blocks, they then turned made a Pattern from the block and cut out in Calico to make a toile ( mock up).
Why not have a go at Pattern Cutting yourself so you can have the perfect blocks to make your own patterns to ypur own designs.
Open day and Fabric sale event by Fabricology happening at the Sew2it Studios on Saturday 21st May.
Time is 10.00-1.00 and is a great opportunity to purchase your fabrics to make your new Summer Wardrobe.
If you feel you could do with help on making your creation then why not talk your needs over with Steph ( the owner and teacher ) on the day and book onto a course.
Coffee and tea will be available free on the day ....as well as a selection of biscuits and cake !!!

This picture was taken today of two of my lovely ladies who were looking over patterns and discussing their next projects.
My one lady is wearing a top which she has made in a previous lesson.
The After School kids are working hard, this week they made a shoulder bag with the theme of 'Valentines'.
They interfaced both the felt and the back of the bag before they embroidered and added Heart shaped beads and other beads.
Keep it quiet from their Mom's, but their next project is for Mothers Day.
This is one of my lovely After School kids modelling the hat she has made in class on a Tuesday 4-6 pm.
The hat is made from Denim and has a pink satin bow with sparkle beads.
I think you will agree she models her hat with panache.
A big thank you to all of you who came along to the fabric sale by Fabricology, it was a big success and will be repeating after Easter.I think the tea,coffee,biscuits and cake swung it !!!!

New evening course now running on a Thursday from 6.30- 8.30 for six weeks.
Learn how to make quality garments that are as individual as you are. Learn how to use the correct needles and stich type for your fabric.
Look at different interfacings for fabric types and how/where to use them.
Sample seam types and learn how to put in zips and fastenings.
Learn hem types and decorative finishes and to give your garment that extra quality finish, we will also teach you how to line it.
